So my little bits of animation have been used in the title sequence and cut ins for TSRXtra, only a few senconds here and there, but hey! it’s my first attempt.

So i finally finished the 3d animation (and a quick one of the process) for the Screening Room extra airing on thursday - i can’t upload the actual work until friday, but here is the process anim - a bit rough, but it only flicks on and off the screen - and gives a good idea of the process.

But here are a few that i like from the past week or two - been so snowed under at work that by the time i get round to the sketchbook my brains turned to mush and i end up drawing pirates (one of which i’ve included - ya hah me harties, urgh!) eating ice creams and battling with giant lollypops.

The reason i’ve been soooo busy is that i was set the challenge of making one of my doodles into a 3d model (in a peice of software i’ve never used - and not having touched any 3d modeling software for so many years) and then animate it for a TV show, also showing the design process from sketch to render. Well, i think i’ve managed to pull it off, and as soon as i have a draft, i”ll post it - as well as that, numerous new interactives for CNN including a new style of quiz, and a video type one coming up.

*phew*

oh, yeah, if you’re a designer, and around brighton in the future - look out for Skillswap, organized by Clearleft - went to it with Andy last week, and aswell as being a good chance to chat to people of a similar ilk, you may get an idea or two.

On another note, went to the Beachdown Festival over the weekend - a bit of an organizational nightmare to start with (cummon, one burger van for the entire campsite), but sitting in a natural amphitheatre watching the magic numbers, the beat and fun lovin criminals made up for the first night - had to bale early as the weather was awful, but i would recomend it for next year.

So not much time for doodles recently as has been immersed in actionscript, developing games, maps, feed readers - you name it, ive tried it! but here are a couple of doodles from last week.

I’ve been sooooo busy recently that i haven’t had a chance to upload much, which means i have a pile of stuff that i’ll try and upload asap. Ive been doing loads of fully colored illustrations for these quiz things, working on an olympics track and field game(from scratch) and various other doodles and sites. Above is a teaser for an upcoming JI Quiz…

So, another week of not uploading many doodles, but i have been working hard on another quis for just imagine head here and look for the cities quiz… might get a chance to upload some more stuff tonight. also recently launched are the football fanzone and my city my life.

So, off to the conference tomorrow - should be interesting. Here’s some of the doodles from this week.

Ok… so i’m actually gonna start using my site a bit more now it’s easier to update - I’ve been drawing stuff i see and things in the paper on my commute to and from work for the past couple of months (over 100 pages worth of stuff) and think it’s a bit of a waste just rotting in my backpack - so fingers crossed this weekend I’ll try and scan all the decent ones - and then try and post new one daily(or at least a few times a week) starting next week - not sure if i can upload them from work as i haven’t found a decent scanner anywhere around (i spose i could use my camera - but that always looks slightly dodgey)
